Alan Cross Brief Biography Aged 12 years old, I became a dedicated fan of Terry Gilliam’s animations featured on Monty Python’S Flying Circus TV show and have been a stills photographer ever since. More recently I have turned to moving images. I graduated in Architecture at Hallam University in Sheffield and lived and worked in Cologne, Germany. I maintain my UK registration as a fully qualified Architect and now live in Worthing, West Sussex. After graduating, my college band was signed to MCA Records so I pursued a career in music. After moderate success and a deal with MCA Records, we suffered management problems and eventually split up. I continued to write for Warner Chappell Music publishers and my work as a songwriter topped Dance Charts both here in the UK and the USA. I have mixed music and DJed in many countries including UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Holland, USA, Australia, South Africa, Israel, Lebanon and beyond. It was a fun time. After directing a Music Video I started to produce animated motion graphics and throughout the noughties made a living from my 3D animation work. My Web Promotional Video work is commissioned from Sydney to Sao Paulo. I read Robert McKee’s book on Story, fell in love with screenwriting and took a short course at Central Film School in Brick Lane. I attend the London Screenwriting Festival every year to pitch my screenwriting to producers. As a filmmaker my music videos for ‘ROY INC!’ turned heads in the music and fashion worlds. My independent short film “The Bench By The Sea” won Best Film at Sussex and SERIAC Film Festivals in 2016. I’m now writing a Feature. I embrace audio-visual technology. My Analogue-Digital Art recently featured in the Worthing Artists Open Houses 2016 / 2017, in London at Chrom-Art’s #TRIBE16 and the following year at the #TRIBE17 Festival with good sales. My artwork investigates moving from the analogue into the digital world. I look to create emotion through colour and movement sampled from the sea. I continue making film and currently fly Commercial Operations with my drone. I have a CAA Permission to Fly Commercial Operations (PfCO). I have flown for clients as big as Glaxo Smith Klein pharmaceuticals, local farms and as small as a Punch & Judy show on the beach or even my next door neighbour. I love making exciting images - visual art is my passion!
