I was always passionate about music and remember dedicating the whole of my back bedroom as a 'DJ room’. I had a reasonable job back then and could afford to buy the latest equipment. I learnt to DJ on Technics Sl-1210s and distinctly remember buying Ortofon cartridges/Styli; I was obsessed with clarity of sound. I used to love twisting the central spindles on the 1210s in order to get the records matched tight. I also had a BPM counter at the time and used to label all my records with the correct BPM. I was a nerd, but I was happy. The back bedroom ended up being swamped with crates and crates of records - I was hooked. Despite the music seed being well and truly planted, I thought I knew better. I ended up selling all the records and went to University to study Psychology and Law. However, whilst at University, I bought my first Apple Macintosh computer. Since then, I have evolved as a digital DJ. I remember the first time I used CDJs and was completely blown away with such technical refinement.
