Hitting the streets of Maryland, Annapolis to be exact, underdog hip hop artist Bullet Brak is throwing his beats to the pavement and revitalizing rap in the capital. Known by his artist persona -Bullet Brak, Matthew Brock is a young musical entrepreneur digging his heels into the music industry with his relentless spirit. Labeled as one of “15 DMV Artists You Need to Know” by XXL Magazine, Bullet Brak captures a true artist’s vision with his music, paying homage to the 90’s hip hop/ East Coast scene he grew up listening too. In the industry for 5+ years, he’s worked with artists such as The Beatnuts, Noreaga, Curren$y, The Lox, Gunplay & Torch (MMG), and Ty Dolla Sign. After learning the role that Myspace played with music artists, he quickly immersed himself into his music, honing his self-taught creative process. “If I hear something I like in a beat, it happens- as repetition like shooting free throw,” said Brak. Wanting to purse his music interest as a career, Brak moved to Harlem, NY in 2007 to attend the Institute of Audio Research, where he graduated with honors in 2009 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2014, Brak was honored with a nomination for a Underground Music Award. Describing his style of hip-hop as mixture of East Coast, 90’s and Boom-Bap, Brak’s musical icons are Big Pun and Norega. As an artist, he strives to inspire others and prove that the underdog can come out on top. Flash forward five years, he envisions himself as an A&R for a major record company, where he plans to use the music industry to solidify his personal brand in the entertainment business. “Dreams Do Come True....When I was in Arizona, 3 days after my grandfather died ,who was my idol, I was on the phone on a dark street and found a coin that was handmade with an angel on the front and inscribed on the back was "Dreams Do Come True", said Brak, “that day changed my life.”
