CHASE O. WANTLAND
Freelance illustrator with a bachelor of arts degree seeking position as full time illustrator/designer within a production team environment – in order to cultivate my passion for the creative process, to bring concepts to life (personal or otherwise), and finally, to work in partnership with colleagues who possess similar ambitions.
My academic career involves experience in rhetoric and creative design – computer-based as well as traditional mediums – with an exposure to such production elements as storyboarding and character design. As a performing arts major, I participated in numerous university theatre productions – taking on lead acting roles, as well as contributing to set construction. I would say that success in both of these arenas can be attributed, in part, to my ability in maintaining positive relationships with a diverse body of personnel.
Currently, I work commissions intermittently in freelance illustration for published and independent authors – primarily children’s literature. Sample of works can be viewed through the portfolio URL posted above.
Relevant experience: Approximately eight years serving various roles in aircraft troubleshooting/maintenance – where knowledge of blueprints and schematics is essential, as well as the ability to work as a team player, keeping communication at the forefront. Accomplishment in said role attests to my hands-on abilities, knack for attention to detail, and capacity for critical assignments.
