Platinum producer, musician, composer, engineer, graphic designer, web developer, entrepreneur – Dale “Dr. Dizzle” Virgo discovered his love for music at a tender age of seven when he began taking piano lessons after school. Being exposed to the Cadet squad also at that age, Dr. Dizzle grew up mastering the drums then went on to the Excelsior High School where he became the leader of the school’s marching band in the seventh grade. In March of 1998, the doctor gave his life to the Lord and dedicated himself to playing music in the church under the mentorship of Rev. Donovan Cole. Although being passionate for music, he was convinced that he wanted to join the army after high school. Life however took an unexpected twist when after high school he enrolled himself at the University of Technology, Jamaica – School of Computing and Information Technology to do his first degree in Computer Networking – his second passion. During his first year at the University, Dr. Dizzle was introduced to the whole concept of creating musical rhythms and beats on the computer and started out in the comfort of his own bedroom, to make new beats. By the end of his first year in University, he had created far over a hundred beats ready to be made into hit songs. This talent could not go to waste, and as such, in fall of 2003, the doctor started the Edna Manley College of the Performing and Visual Arts where he majored in playing the drums. In June 2005, Dr. Dizzle founded and established Dizzle Lab Productions, marketing himself from his bedroom primarily as a producer to the Gospel music fraternity under his Holy Ground Record Label, then later on expanding his talent to the larger music industry. Over the years, Dr. Dizzle has produced many top chart songs, compilations and albums in both the local and international music industry. To date, he has completed over 40 albums, two movies, and has produced countless hit songs. Rihanna’s ‘A Girl Like Me’; Gyptian’s ‘Serious Times’; D’Angel’s ‘Dreams’, are just some of the works created by Dr. Dizzle. Being in the music industry full time, he still finds time to develop his other skills. Currently, he is based at the Geejam studios in Portland, Jamaica, where he is the technical director and the in-house producer and engineer.
