Syntax/Semantics is a singer/songwriter/artist/dreamer from Melbourne. SS started performing as a folk musician and poet around the age of 11 and eventually moved to Melbourne to pursue that path. Upon recording a cover of 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' for a Nick Cave tribute album, SS had the realisation that though she loved the intimacy of acoustic creation, it was not the right path for her. SS then spent many years learning about many different genres, jamming with people from all walks of life, saying yes to enriching musical experience, and consequently growing as an artist. In 2014 SS started band Bonnie Doom who recently recorded their debut album with Pissfart Records (Drunk Mums) and formed Pow Pow Kids in lated 2014. Simply playing in punk bands however doesn't satisfy the '1 a day since she was 7' artist that is Syntax/Semantics. The organic step was to start producing her own music and explore the vastness of her musical interpretation. Syntax/Semantics was started in August 2014 and has evolved and grown each and everyday since. SS moves between slow and fast, between bratty and delicate, between hip-hop or 80's inspired Miami Beach vocals, from light to dark and from fun, to relaxed and thoughtful. SS is currently working on an EP called 'Australia'. 1. To encourage peace and unity, and spread messages of truth through dance. 2. To make music that makes people want to move in celebration. 3.
