Providing quality photography and design to businesses, families, and individuals in WA, USA. Hi, I'm Joshua. I’m a photographer living and working out of the Pacific Northwest, USA. Someone once remarked that photography is in my blood. That resonates with me. I don’t just take photos; creating photographic art is part of who I am. I capture moments, looking for what lies beneath the surface – the moods, emotions, and character of people and places. I moved to China as a kid in 1997 and lived there until 2020. I feel a special connection to that country and its people. It was a privilege and a joy to live in Beijing for so many years. I’m grateful for the opportunities I had to take photos of people and places around China – whether it’s Tibetan pilgrims at Yarchen Ger, trips with Chinese travel magazines, hiking the Great Wall, or portraits capturing the lives of families in Beijing.

    uniE621 Waiting for the Lama
While traveling in Northern Tibet, my guide learned that there would be a Great Llama visiting one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist universities. We decided to come and see him. I snapped this photo while waiting in the crowds for his arrival. #branding #photography #buddhist #lama #buddhism #tibet #travel #china
    uniE621 Observing
I saw this image before I took it. I noticed this woman looking over the Buddhist nunnery at Yarchen Ger. I loved this perspective view with her in the foreground. #tibet #buddhist #buddism #travel #photography #branding
    uniE621 Nun Reflections
On my second trip to Yarchen Ger, it was raining. It did make it difficult to get some good photos but I really liked visiting the Buddhist nunnery and getting photos of these reflections. #buddhism #buddhist #china #tibet #branding
    uniE621 Yarchen Gar Symmetry
When I take photos, I love finding symmetrical shapes or designs. One of the many things I loved about going to Tibet was taking photos of these gorgeous monasteries that are perfectly designed! #tibet #china #travel #photography #branding
    uniE621 Kangding Sunrise
Great way to start out my trip in Northern Tibet by getting up at 3am to get here in time for the sunrise over the mountains! #photo #branding #tibet #china #travel
    uniE621 Head in the Clouds
While traveling in Northern Tibet, we would often be enveloped in the fog. We couldn't always stop because the roads were too narrow to safely get out and take photos. However, my guide would find spots for me to stop and get some photographs of this beautiful fog. #photography #branding #tibet #china #travel
    uniE621 Padmasanbhava
The incredible Padmasanbhava (lotus born) at Yarchen Gar in Northern Tibet! Loved spending a day at this location, taking photos of this incredible location and the pilgrims visiting it. #photography #tibet #china #buddhist #buddhism #religion
uniE621 Huang Hua Cheng - Great Wall of China
Huang hua cheng remains one of my favorite sections of the Great Wall. I have been visiting this section of the wall over the years. I took this photo while hiking with a friend. #photo #branding #greatwallofchina
uniE621 Simatai - Great Wall of China
I took this photograph at the start of a hike on the Simatai section of the Great Wall. I really liked how the storm clouds looked behind the Great Wall. Thankfully the rain came at the end of the hike. #photo #branding #greatwallofchina
    uniE621 Summer Palace Family Portrait
Something I get asked by clients is to do a "farewell to Beijing" photo shoot. The client wants to say good bye to Beijing and pick out a place that has had meaning to them during their time here. This family picked the Summer Palace because they would often go to it as a family and their kids loved it. #family #beijing #summerpalace #photo #portrait
    uniE621 Maternity Family Portrait
In this photo session, I was asked to create intimate photos of an expecting mother. #photo #beijing #family #portrait
    uniE621 Temple of Heaven Portrait
I'm often asked to take portraits in locations that are meaningful to my client. I took this portrait at the Temple of Heaven because it was my client's favorite spot in Beijing. #templeofheaven #beijing #portrait
