If you enjoy the "wait for it" dubstep moment before the bass drops, this song's for you. The clarinet lead both laments and evokes the sultry power of Queen Hatshepsut, fifth Pharaoh of Egypt's 18th Dynasty, whose name - despite the success of her 22-year reign - was obliterated from written records and buildings. Archaeologist J. Tyldesley believes that it was done to remove any suggestion that a female could be as capable at governing Egypt as a traditional male king, and to dissuade "future generations of potentially strong female kings."
