Much like their hometown of Sin City, Midnight Clover artfully blends disparate styles to create a lush and evocative sound. Amber Corby layers her seductive and dynamic vocals over a rich soundscape with elements of grunge and new wave sprinkled liberally with a funky pop sensibility. Roman on bass and Jimmie Bohn create a complex and enjoyable rhythmic backbone for guitarists Johnie Stomp and Amber to drape the atmospheric melody over.
This band offers complexity of spirit, presenting a diverse collection of sounds at every turn that echo of the stylistic preferences of PJ Harvey. The high energy and playful spunk present in their performances brings to mind David Bowie and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs while their dreamy element can be traced to The Church and Mazzy Star.
Midnight Clover is already making waves in their hometown, receiving great press and opening for acts like Orgy, The Aristocrats, Dramarama, Missing Persons, and Bow Wow Wow. They’ve played numerous venues including the Hard Rock Cafe and the House of Blues and are presently in the studio working on their debut album “Turner” due for release in April 2016.
