Joined J Walter Thompson Johannesburg in 1978 and made it on to the board aged 29. Had short spells at LINTAS,BBDO and McCann Erikson. I went travelling for an extended period in the early '80's. Returned to South Africa in 1984, and joined Bates Wells Johannesburg as a Creative Director. Left in '86 to join D'Arcy McManus Returned to Bates Wells in '87 as Executive Creative Director Transferred to the Durban office 10 years later in '97. The agency was bought by and renamed TBWA /Hunt Lascaris in the same year I remained there till 2015, first as Executive Creative Director, and subsequently as Managing Director and Executive Creative Director of TBWA/TOO Left in 2015, having spent 28 years at the agency. I feel that after 40 years in the advertising business I have earned the right to do the things I enjoy Strategy, Creative and Production. and to avoid Big Agency Office admin, H.R and Corporate Politics,
