Milko Milkov (pianist) Born in Varna (Bulgaria) Milko Milkov completed his musical education at the State Music School “Dobri Hristov” in his city of birth and at the National Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia where he studied with professors Julia and Constantine Ganevi who were students of the great Russian pianist and pedagogue Henrich Newhous. Between 1993 and 1995 he completed his higher musical education at the renowned Music Academy “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, Italy, studying piano under Maestro Sergio Perticaroli and chamber music under Maestro Felix Ayo. Milko has also participated in Master Classes given by Maestro Marcello Abado (Italy) and Professor Germaine Mounier (France). Milko Milkov has gained first prize from the National Competition “Svetoslav Obretenov” in Provadia in 1978. He is also a prize winner from the International Pianist Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1989 and the International Competition for Young Musicians “Trofeo di Tortona” in Italy in 1993. He has given concerts and recitals in Austria, Italy, South Africa, South Korea and Russia ( in the prestigious “Rachmaninov” Hall in Moscow). He has also participated in a number of international music festivals including the Europеan Music Festival, International Festival „Sofia Music Weeks” , „Varna Summer”International Music Festival and the International Music Festival “Trinita dei Monti” in Rome, Italy. Milko has performed as soloist with a number of orchestras in Bulgaria and he has performed with some distinguished conductors such as Ivan Marinov, Rosen Milanov, Ivan Kozuharov, Michele Marvoulli (Italy), Amaury du Closel (France) and Kenneth Kissler (USA). He has recorded a CD for the "Elite Music Аgency" and has also recorded for the Bulgarian National Television and Bulgarian National Radio and “Golden Fond” label in Radio Varna. In 1998 Milko Milkov was invited to become professor of piano at the prestigious “Kwangju Women’s University” in South Korea where he also performed and gave Master Classes. Since 2001 Milko Milkov teaches piano and chamber music at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. In 2006 he was invited to lead the annual International Piano Master Classes organised by the “ Symphonic Workshops” agency in Canada.
