I am Pongo Dean of tha Smoke-o-holics crew aka Pongo tha Pirate. I created tha crew to unite anyone I work with on a regular basis under one title&have been usin tha name since 1998. I am a writer/rapper/freestyler I love words&enjoy bein a wordsmith&creatin real autobiographical story kinda rhymes. I consider myself a “Genre Wander” as I can jump on any sort of beat/backin track or melody. I even do acapella tracks when im feelin a groove within. I freestyle for hours&if I didn’t have to sleep I’d live&breathe music. I am a massive fan of live music. I really love instruments played by talented people/artists. I can’t get enough of tha sound of an acoustic guitar coz when it’s played well it sounds like it’s takin. I have made beats from time to time but I feel that when I do that I don’t have tha focus&I can rush tha finished product so I’d prefer to do what I do best&leave them in tha hands of people who are talented in that area of music. I have been through a lot more than most durin my life so far&I feel that this is why I have so much to say in my lines&rhymes. I spit tha truth&in my music I simply can’t say stuff that isn’t real to me coz if I’m not feelin what im doin I can’t flow properly. I do sometimes write for others too.
