Stephanie was introduced to art as a child. Over the years, in addition to school courses, she had taken art classes in a variety of mediums outside of the school curriculum. In High School, Stephanie earned great praise for her portfolio (Concentration: Women in Portraits) for the Advanced Placement (A.P.) Studio Art course. Stephanie attended Syracuse University and earned a B.S. degree in Accounting. After six years working in Public Accounting at a major Accounting firm, Stephanie decided to pursue her passion for painting. Stephanie's art draws from a diverse array of artistic influences. From her aunt who recreates masterpieces, to her art teacher in High School and to the Master painters such as Edward Hopper, Paul Cezanne and Claude Monet. Stephanie also finds inspiration from the bold color patterns and contrasts in illustrations in children’s books, comic books/graphic novels and anime. She has experimented with mediums such as acrylics, pastels, and watercolor, but oils are her most preferred medium. Major themes in Stephanie's artwork are hopefulness and serenity. Her subjects and scenes are representations that give her a sense of contentment and bring back fond memories. Her art feels like one is in a storybook where her emotions and self-identity are deliberately saturated into the canvas. The technique Stephanie uses is an amalgamation of photorealism and illustration. Colors and shades in the reference photo are enhanced and amplified. Using visible brushstrokes and bold highlights and shadows, Stephanie's technique brings a scene that seems both real and surreal. Stephanie wishes that people feel inspired and uplifted when viewing her work and hope that they can imagine themselves existing within the scene itself. Stephanie was born in 1987 and has lived primarily in the state of New York. She currently resides in Redwood City, California with her husband and beloved dog.
