Formed in Manchester late in 2011 and drawing influences from the likes of The Music, Kasabian and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The High Nines soon made a name for themselves in and around the North-West of England. In May 2012 they released their hotly-anticipated demo 'Let The World Decide....' Slots at Manchester’s iconic music venues such as Ruby Lounge, Night and Day Café, The Roadhouse, FAC251 and a sell-out at Dry Bar soon followed, as well as being asked to record acoustic sessions for YouTube channel Our House, Beatwolf Radio and a live interview and performance on ALL FM’s Drivetime Show. The demo was well received by fans and music bloggers alike and had radio airplay both in UK on ALL FM, North Manchester FM and Salford City Radio as well as further afield on US, Canadian and European internet stations. The band released their debut single 'Kiss Me, I’m Up' in December on iTunes, Amazon etc via their own record label Lindsay Road Music and hosted a sell-out launch night at 160-capacity venue The Attic to round off a fantastic 2012. In just over a year after their first gig The High Nines have gained a large following on social media sites Reverbnation, Twitter and Facebook and regularly fill venues, which can include the occasional stage invasion!! Due to the success of the single and the general buzz surrounding the band, they decided to release new track 'Rainman' as a completely free download; a move described by the band as "a song for the fans". 'Rainman' has been receiving excellent reviews at gigs and has already been lined up for airplay on local and national radio in the coming weeks as well as an offer to play the track at half-time to 78,000 people at Old Trafford. 'Rainman' is the band’s first release of 2013, and will be accompanied by a music video produced by The Media Lab, Manchester. With this and further releases planned, 2013 promises to be an even bigger year than last for this exciting Manchester band. The High Nines are: Dean Ashton (Vocals), Steve Cornell (Guitar/Vocals), Paul McLaughlin (Bass/Vocals) Nathan Lowe (Drums), Trevor Curley (Lead Guitar). “...Kiss Me, I’m Up, straight after listening to it we immediately made it our song of the day” - Ears On “...They embrace a mod mentality with a driving rhythm section, melodic guitar and vocals delivered with real passion, attitude and some good old-fashioned rock n roll!” - A Little Bit Louder ... “...a fantastic band.
