THE NAME EXPLAINED:
The name has a three parts/ meanings to it.
Literati is a group of linguistically elite individuals that analyze fine arts and literature to better themselves as well as their own art.
ilLiterati is a group of critics that pick literature apart and analyze it for the purpose of being critical and understanding what not to do.
The “ill” is in parentheses to create a play on the explanations above. The (ill) takes on it’s connotative definition of “sick, nasty, dope” and works in unison with the denotation of “Literati,” thus creating a name for a group that is modern and artistic with a sense of youth.
