Vivian Sinya studied TV Writing & Producing at Columbia College. It was there that she developed a talk show called “Girl Talk” that aired on Columbia’s student ran Television Network. Due to it’s success Girl Talk became apart of Columbia’s TV curriculum for freshmen/sophomore students. Vivian’s last semester was spent in LA where she interned for The Producer’s Guild of America and Panavision. Shortly after graduating from Columbia, Vivian was hired as a post-production assistant for Oprah’s TV Network OWN where she worked on music licensing for Oprah’s Lifeclass and Super Soul Sunday. From there she went on to create an original comedy webseries called Coco and Hazelnut, which was nominated for best comedy in the Witz End Chicago TV Pilot Competition. Since Coco and Hazelnut, Vivian has written, produce and directed several short films as well as shot and edited music videos such as PSA, Fade Away and Statue. In between film projects Vivian works as a freelance photographer specializing in portraits and events. Her photography eventually landed her a job as a still photographer working for Black Coffee Indie director Mark Harris. Although Vivian’s talents lie through the visual arts she also has a passion for creative writing. Many of her short stories express themes of powerful yet relatable, female driven voices often with a comical overtone. It is one of her goals to create content that shows the diversity of real women while promoting self-love and body positivity through laughter. Vivian takes pride in being a body positive advocate and often post images of herself on social media to continue the effort in changing the definition/standard of beauty. In 2017 Vivian grabbed the attention of Lane Bryant’s I. AM. BEAUTIFUL campaign and appeared in ads to promote the organization strive to uplift young girls. Vivian continues her career in film and photography and hopes that her work will encourage others to express self-love and positivity.
