We-Mu – Gospel Reggae/Dancehall Artist (Malawi) We-Mu real name Wezzie Munkhondya born in Lilongwe central hospital on 25 August in 1993 in family of 5 with two brothers and two sisters was raised in Blantyre, a district in the Southern part of Malawi. Attended primary school at Blanyre Baptist , while in primary school We-Mu used to do music with His brother Atusaye Munkhondya a.k.a Tesh using own made musical instruments(guitars and drums).By then We-Mu had already started listening to Reggae/Ragga music of the likes of Wailing Souls , Bob Marley , Peter Tosh , Musical Youths and Yellow Man which influenced him into the style of music he sings now and mostly with the introduction of Dancehall We-Mu then started off as a Dancehall recording artist in 2009 when he recorded his first song ‘Gangsters Life’ as a secular artist. He then went on as a secular artist to record a lot of songs and collaborations. In 2011 We-Mu received Jesus Christ and by the Help of God made a decision to stop secular music and embarked on a journey of singing Gospel music in the same genre (Reggae/Dancehall) which until now We-Mu is doing Gospel Music. We-Mu believes music has an impact on lives of people and thought of impacting lives of people through music for them to turn to Christ. We-Mu focuses on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the same genre of Dancehall. We-Mu has released his debut EP album titled `UNLIMITED` which was released on 20 December 2013 under the label Munshyn Rekordz. We-Mu together with his two brothers (Melody Munkhondya aka Ancient Kush & Atusaye Munkhondya aka Tesh) own a Record Label and Recording Studio named Munshyn Rekordz. We-Mu is also signed by the same label and also works as a producer for the label and studio.
