Rolo is an inspiring artist hailing from Union City, New Jersey and currently prepping his new project “Skip To The Pros.” He properly chooses this title being that as an independent artist these days, is like a needle in the haystack, and can be rather difficult to stand out from the rest. It can be also quite difficult without powerful resources and not to mention, the capital.
For as long as he can remember, Rolo’s passion for music has been growing stronger listening to Eminem, Justin Timberlake, Akon, T-Pain, 50 cent, plus many other influences as a child coming up. But it wasn’t until Summer 09’ that he clearly realized that music was definitely what he wanted to pursue, and not just as a listener, but as a true spitter.
Rolo’s music is a mixture of Hip-Hop, R&B & Club generated cuts. He has performed across the tri-state area with events powered by Hot97, Power 105 & Desert Storm Radio at venues such as The Blue Room in Secaucus NJ, NJPAC in Newark NJ, Club Mansion in Brick NJ, BB Kings in Times Square NYC, Black Bear Bar in Brooklyn NY, Repertory Theater in Harlem NY, Blackthorn 51 in Queens NY and a host of others past, present and future. In 2013 he took a trip out to Miami Florida & performed at Club Jazid in South Beach & at K.O.D. (King Of Diamonds).
Since losing his best friend, partner and promoter Leandro Mendoza, Rolo has been going harder then ever at his craft. Surrounding himself with radio celebrities such as Angela Yee of The Breakfast Club to award winning movie stars like Cuba Gooding Jr., Rolo’s been booked to host events at the Palace in Passaic NJ & Dragonfly Lounge in Linden NJ. Recently? Rolo was placed on ThisIs50’s JackThiller.com, ThundaGround plus other blog sites.
Rolo has also been on the local TV channel from Hudson County NJ, currently getting club rotation & was aired on “Non-Fiction Radio” for 2 consecutive years was aired on “Dirty South Radio” as well. As a true entertainer at heart, Rolo has had opening act’s with artists such as Maino, Lloyd Banks, Remy Ma, Papoose & Tony Yayo. Keep an ear and eye out for Rolo’s “Skip to the Pro’s” as he consistently experiments & develops his craft.
