Bio:
ALEXANDER RAYE PIMENTEL is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and military veteran. He is the Guild Ambassador of the DSLR Filmmakers Guild and has won a "New York International Independent Film and Video Festival Award" and a "Munoz Generations International Film Festival Award" for best dramatic short. Pimentel's work addresses such themes as tragedy, revenge, turmoil, and violence. Pimentel is regarded as a young upcoming filmmaker with much potential. He has made ten short films, his most significant and influential films being, The Incredible Thug (2009), Build a Fire (2010), Beyond the Ropes (2012), Life Lessons (2013), and Artifact (2013). Alexander Pimentel grew up in California and Georgia. His father's parents emigrated from Mexico, and his mother is of Italian descent. Pimentel was raised in a devoutly Catholic environment. As a boy, he began to draw, paint, and write with his imagination. His inspiration came from his Uncle Allan Linder. It was at this stage in his life that he developed passion for cinema. Enamored of historical epics in his adolescence, at least two films of the genre, Mean Streets and Dial M for Murder, appear to have had a deep and lasting impact on his cinematic psyche. Pimentel also developed an admiration for minimalist and neorealist cinema, which has inspired many of his films. Alexander Pimentel is currently attending school at New York Film Academy's Universal Studios Location. He continues to work with an undisputed motivation and passion, challenging the audience's intellect, and showing the raw reality of this vestigial world we live in.
