Androck (A.K.A Mitch Buechler) is a rapper from Portland, Oregon, who’s collaborated on a number of awesome projects through Twine and was a Twine staff pick a few weeks back. In this interview, he tells us about his musical background and influences, who he’s been working with on Twine and provides several tips for finding and starting to work with people on Twine.
1) My musical background and influences
“I’d say that most of my musical background comes from playing the piano and violin from my childhood up until I graduated high school. From there in college, I picked up rap and hip-hop through my influences of Kendrick Lamar, Logic, J. Cole, Pryde, Drake, and my younger brother who was doing the same stuff at the time. Music was a way for me to vent in a personal way about things, and it’s been the biggest creator of the person I am today.”
2) Who I’ve been working with on Twine
“A couple months ago I received an email from Twine about joining their website and had a look through the different features of the site. I fell in love with the simplicity of the site, and how easy it was manage all my creative work and to put yourself out there.” The collaboration page is by far the best tool that an artist on Twine can use. It’s perfect because the people looking at that page are like minded creatives, so it’s never been easier to find people to work with! I used it to find my collaborations with: Vigilante, Junyer, and soon, Heyerule.
3) Tips for how to find and start working with people on Twine
“Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! Send messages, comment on links, be professional, and put out quality content on a fairly consistent basis. These are some of the best tips to take your musical portfolio to the next level.”
