What is it?

This badge tells other Twine members that your portfolio has been verified. Verifying your portfolio lets other people know that your account on Twine is genuine and trustworthy.

When you have the verified badge it will be displayed wherever your name is. Whether that’s on your portfolio, your project pages or in comments. So people will instantly know that you’re a verified member.

Why do you need it?

Buyers and creatives alike want to know that the person they’re working with is trustworthy. On Twine we want to help make that decision easier. Accounts with the verified badge will be immediately recognisable as someone you can trust.

Anonymity is a barrier to trust, and our freelance marketplace here on Twine relies on being able to trust who you’re working with. The verification badge improves safety.

Why do creatives need it?

Creatives with verified portfolios are more likely to get hired on projects than those who have unverified portfolios.

Buyers only want to work with creatives they can trust. Help your buyers to see that you’re trustworthy by verifying your portfolio.

Why do buyers need it?

If you’re a buyer it’s important to verify your portfolio too. Creatives will want to know that their buyer is genuine, and the project they are being invited to work on is real.

You can increase your trustworthiness by verifying your portfolio.

How does Twine verify my portfolio?

It’s simple. Add a link to your Twine portfolio on your Twitter or Facebook page, or on your own blog/website. We can verify your identity by linking your Twine portfolio with other information about you.

How do you get it?

To earn the verified badge, simply follow these steps:

1. Make sure you’re logged in, then go to your portfolio page.

2. Click the blue ‘verify’ me button, which is on the left, just above your bio:

After studying English Literature at university, Vicky decided she didn’t want to be either a teacher or whoever it is that writes those interminable mash-up novels about Jane Austen and pirates, so sensibly moved into graphic design. She worked freelance for some time on various projects before starting at Twine and giving the site its unique, colourful look. Despite having studied in Manchester and spent some years in Cheshire, she’s originally from Cumbria and stubbornly refuses to pick up a Mancunian accent. A keen hiker, Vicky also shows her geographic preferences by preferring the Cumbrian landscape to anything more local.
