Squid Blood Presents: No Idols

Elusive, original and highly anonymous, are just a few ways to describe the production duo No Idols who have been making a significant splash in the electronic community over the past year. Their latest Deep House release Lost in the Desert brings together eerie pads, ominous strings, dynamic house beats and one of the pluckiest basslines I’ve ever heard delivering an musical experience that I can only describe as deep enough to emulate the dire straits of Marianas Trench

Additionally these two mystery gents don’t just deliver the deep end of electronic music they’ve recently remixed the classic late 90’s track Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust. A truly unique take on the original tune without garbling or chopping up the original in a way where the vibes would be lost, but more of a new wave deep house makeover bridging the gap and preparing the track for the 21st century.

With every new release garnishing 60K+ plays, and receiving a staggering amount of support, it’s safe to say we’re going to keep hearing a unique twist on dance music with these two wunderkinds in the months/years to come (And of course hopefully we’ll someday know of their true identities).

Joe Scarffe

Joe Scarffe

Joe is the Community and Marketing Manager and is currently finishing up a PhD in music at Birmingham Conservatoire and still hasn’t got over his addiction to coffee. He loves getting involved in crazy music projects and plays the bassoon, oboe, piano, recorder and guitar. He also makes lots of electronic music and loves collaborating. He sings too if you ask nicely and once shamefully sang as a backing singer for Will Young. When he’s not moaning about the state of the music industry or public transport in Manchester, he works with the Twine community and handles social media, the blog and partnerships with companies and institutions.
