Spotlight: Mcubed

Mcubed (AKA Mike Stallman) is a 20 years old music producer from Austin, Texas, and has been seriously producing for the last 4 years or so. His electronic musical weapons of choice are Ableton Live and Native Instruments plugins. In his portfolio biography, he writes ‘Hi my name is Mike Stellman If you like what you hear, show it to your dad’.FB_IMG_1439336518510

Mcubed describes his early influences as ‘a bit all over the place’ but cites Daft Punk and Ronald Jenkies as huge inspirations. Recently, he’s been really into the big hip-hop/beats music scene, so particularly artists like Mr. Carmack, Sam Gellaitry and Oshi.

Mcubed has some nostalgic tunes in the pipeline, which he finds most fun to write.

To find out more about Mcubed, follow him on Clowdy, Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud.

Joe Scarffe

Joe is the Community and Marketing Manager and is currently finishing up a PhD in music at Birmingham Conservatoire and still hasn’t got over his addiction to coffee. He loves getting involved in crazy music projects and plays the bassoon, oboe, piano, recorder and guitar. He also makes lots of electronic music and loves collaborating. He sings too if you ask nicely and once shamefully sang as a backing singer for Will Young. When he’s not moaning about the state of the music industry or public transport in Manchester, he works with the Twine community and handles social media, the blog and partnerships with companies and institutions.
