“I am an underground hip-hop artist, songwriter and producer born and raised in The Bronx, N.Y. I began my musical journey at the age of 3 and by the age of 9 was playing the drums and writing songs for local bands. I had began recording and producing his first of many professional studio tracks in his early middle school years. With the guidance of my former manager; at the age of 19, I established my indie record label Zone Platinum Entertainment in New York, established in 1999 as “The first label that operated beneath the streets”.
“It was then that I released my first single “Up Next” and introduced my Drop-Zone sound to the world. In 2002, I took my music career to the next level as a back up dancer for J Records recording artist Alicia Keys, which introduced him to the pros and cons of this cut throat music industry. From the experience and knowledge acquired on tour, I was inspired to write, record and produce my first music video for my home town anthem “Put Your X’s Up”.
During this time, I took on my biggest challenge to date, being a first time father. Which further more motivated me to elevate my career and build a better future for my legacy. As my buzz on the streets grew so did the size of my family and with raising 5 children came hardship, pain and struggle. These life changing experiences have really helped enhance my songwriting capabilities. As I become more of a philosophical hip-hop artist, my music style incorporates issues people face everyday (poverty, racism, family, religion, politics, etc). With the drastic changes in the hip-hop world, I continue to remain true to my music followers after releasing over 13 solo albums.”
Who you’ve been working with on Twine.
“I Flow by Mr.Tac a.k.a. Chocolate is a track off of my 14th solo studio album, The Last Hip-Hop Avenger 3 (World Domination). The track features four up and coming underground artists: Daymian, Skinny Joe, D-Weezee and Acemuzik, all of which I hand picked from a collab brief I posted on the collaboration page.”
How I found people to work with on Twine
“I think Twine is a great place for artists from all around the work to get to know each other and collab on projects online. Twine is the New social network for musicians and producers to get work, get paid and create. I used twine to collab on the track “I Flow” and found working in Twine was easy. We wrote a collaboration post about the song and many artists replied, I was able to hand pick and contact the artists we picked without a problem. My experience with Twine was awesome and I will be using the site again.”
