Canadian model and vocalist Nequita Russell recently collaborated with the New York based music producer Mike Rivera on the awesome track, through Twine. In this interview she talks about the collaboration and shares some tips for meeting other creatives on Twine.
What are your background and influences?
I have been heavily influenced by pop music from Lady Gaga to Rihanna and the works of earlier artists such as Prince, Shania Twain, Michael Jackson and Madonna. I have been writing since the age of 12, and formerly started performing at age 13 in my local church.
Who have you worked with on Twine (and what projects have you worked on)?
I worked with the New York based music producer Mike Rivera on our song titled “Your Love”.
I made a behind the scenes video of the recording of the song, check it out:
What’s your advice for finding people to work with on Twine?
My advice would be to make sure the artist or producer you work with is in the same caliber as you and works with your strengths as an artists. It’s important that you both compliment each other to create the right collaboration.
