Spotlight: Standard Issue

Standard Issue (AKA Nick Jennings) is a house DJ/ Producer from the East Midlands, UK. He has been writing music for around 12 years under various names and in various styles. He first fell in love with dance music at the age of 16, after discovering the underground rave scene, and has loved the people and the music ever since.

Unknown-2

Standard Issue has three upcoming releases. The first is Lost, released on Endemic Digital. Lost is punchy and dark with a wonderful blend of tech and deep house elements.

The second upcoming release is ‘So What’ released on BloxBox. ‘So What’ is a much more atmospheric affair with straight up funky house beats. Finally, ‘Give it all you got’ is due for release on South African label Flexual records in 2015 and has a soulful, future music vibe.

Joe Scarffe

Joe is the Community and Marketing Manager and is currently finishing up a PhD in music at Birmingham Conservatoire and still hasn’t got over his addiction to coffee. He loves getting involved in crazy music projects and plays the bassoon, oboe, piano, recorder and guitar. He also makes lots of electronic music and loves collaborating. He sings too if you ask nicely and once shamefully sang as a backing singer for Will Young. When he’s not moaning about the state of the music industry or public transport in Manchester, he works with the Twine community and handles social media, the blog and partnerships with companies and institutions.
