If you’re looking for something a little different, a new 22 track mixtape has just been released by young, Vancouver, hip hop artist, The Original Sinbad. “Counter Culture Misfit” is a mix of aggressive blasts and downtempo beats with sparse, hard-hitting vocals.
What’s refreshing about The Original Sinbad is he’s found a real meaning behind doing what he does. It’s a medium to vent and understand. Which is clear from his self reflective lyrics and brutally honest style. There’s also plenty of vulgar humour to enjoy. A good first track to try would be Cupid.
He pulls it off because there’s no hesitation and he’s got 22 differing, well themed instrumentals that he produced himself. Listen to Txt Msg 2 God for a chilled beat with more ardent lyrics like, “I’m writing poetry til my soul makes amends”.
It can take plenty out of you to produce so much music with introspection and passion so it’s admirable just how many tracks he’s already released at such a young age. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on for the future as he hones his craft and starts finding what works best for him. Give him some support by liking his FB page and listening to more on Clowdy here.
