Ali Phelps
Mount Hope, United States

If asked about the most successful thing I've ever done, I'd say that it was to take something I loved as a child and turn it into a lifelong career. I'm Ali, and I am a freelance illustrator and game artist located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I specialize in character design, concepts, digital illustration, book illustration, and 2D game art. I have worked with clients such as Apple, Google, IXL Learning, Mindsnacks, TapTapTap, and Toolwire. I am a self motivator with a positive outlook and enthusiasm for work. I am a good listener, easy to talk to, and prioritize all deadlines. I look up to greater personal achievements, but never forget to pause and appreciate where I've been. No matter what the job is, I hold to my values and high standard of work ethic.

I am a Graphic Designer & Illustrator based out of Chicago. My obsession with design and image has been life long, from the crayons and coloring books of my childhood to digital pen tablets and design software of my current work. Expressing myself artistically is central to who I am and that form of expression is constantly evolving. Furthering my education in design is an ongoing practice for me and I am forever fine tuning my skills personally and professionally. As a self-starter, multitasking several projects and deadlines comes naturally to me and I thrive in energetic, creative environments. It is very inspiring for me to collaborate with fellow artists and I find it easy to communicate seamlessly within a large and diverse group. I'm drawn to the aesthetic of 60s psychedelia, the color palette of the desert, the timelessness of classic rock, pop art, and vintage movie posters.

My name is Logan Cook I live in Los Angeles. I have always wanted to be an artist, so I've been working hard all my life to try to create professional and quality artwork. My art of choice is comics, since I love both storytelling AND drawing. Storyboards and design work is also fascinating to me. I prefer traditional techniques and tools but still love learning new drawing programs and new digital mediums. Here's my Resume! Logan Cook Comic Artist (513) 309-2758 cookcomics@gmail.com Education BFA in Comics Art, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Minneapolis, MN. Graduated May 2016. Experience Published in Comics Anthology, Gutterspace #2, 2013 Presidential Scholarship, Minneapolis College of Art and Design Published with the distributor Comixology online Skilled in the use of many traditional inking techniques and tools, including technical pens, sable brushes, and nib pens. Knowledgeable in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Eagle scout, Troop 36, Maineville, OH. References and portfolio available upon request Hello everyone! If you have any questions, ideas, or offers for me, then you can contact me via email (which is the only reliable way to contact me) right here! Thanks! lcook@mcad.edu I’ve always wanted to be an artist. I literally can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be one, and even in my earliest memories I was working towards that goal. What has changed, on the other hand, is what kind of artist I wanted to be. For the first part of my life, I wanted to be an illustrator. That all changed when I read Bone, a comic by Jeff Smith in the sixth grade. I had read comics before then, but this particular comic changed the way I looked at the art form. After I read Bone, my entire life revolved around becoming a comic’s artist and writer. In my own comics and art, I prefer to have strong, bold brush strokes and line work. I also end up having quite a bit of texture and hatching, due to my use of nib pens. Besides using Nib pens, I also use sable brushes for character art and technical pens for lettering and straight lines. I also prefer expansive and detailed backgrounds and establishing shots within my work. Of course, in dialogue sequences you have to focus on the characters, so a lot of my art has been focused on human anatomy and cartooning rather than backgrounds. As a result, I hate most of my backgrounds, despite the fact that I try to put in as many as possible. Of course, there’s a lot more to comics than just the art, it’s also about the story. In my own personal projects, I prefer a hero’s story arc rather than any other. Mostly because I enjoy reading those stories the most. The only kind of story I prefer more than a hero’s tale is a good comedy, but unfortunately I’m not talented enough of a writer to pull a comedy off well. I try to work with themes of good vs. evil, changing as a person, and dealing with loss. Mostly though, I just really like to draw. If it wasn’t for that single desire, I wouldn’t be an artist or story teller at all.
