If you have any questions, ideas, or offers for me, then you can contact me via email (which is the only reliable way to contact me) right here! Thanks! lcook@mcad.edu I’ve always wanted to be an artist. I literally can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be one, and even in my earliest memories I was working towards that goal. What has changed, on the other hand, is what kind of artist I wanted to be. For the first part of my life, I wanted to be an illustrator. That all changed when I read Bone, a comic by Jeff Smith in the sixth grade. I had read comics before then, but this particular comic changed the way I looked at the art form. After I read Bone, my entire life revolved around becoming a comic’s artist and writer. In my own comics and art, I prefer to have strong, bold brush strokes and line work. I also end up having quite a bit of texture and hatching, due to my use of nib pens. Besides using Nib pens, I also use sable brushes for character art and technical pens for lettering and straight lines. I also prefer expansive and detailed backgrounds and establishing shots within my work. Of course, in dialogue sequences you have to focus on the characters, so a lot of my art has been focused on human anatomy and cartooning rather than backgrounds. As a result, I hate most of my backgrounds, despite the fact that I try to put in as many as possible. Of course, there’s a lot more to comics than just the art, it’s also about the story. In my own personal projects, I prefer a hero’s story arc rather than any other. Mostly because I enjoy reading those stories the most. The only kind of story I prefer more than a hero’s tale is a good comedy, but unfortunately I’m not talented enough of a writer to pull a comedy off well. I try to work with themes of good vs. evil, changing as a person, and dealing with loss. Mostly though, I just really like to draw. If it wasn’t for that single desire, I wouldn’t be an artist or story teller at all.

My name is Quinton Dreher i was born in Columbia South Carolina. I've been intrested in art ever since I was younger. I moved to California to purse a degree in Media Arts and Animation but I'd like to endevor other art ventures like becoming a comic book artist. At the end of it all I just want to inspire others like myself to pursue their dreams.

About illustrators

An illustrator is a visual artist who creates drawings and illustrations for use in advertisements, books, magazines, packaging, greetings cards, clothing design and newspapers. The possibilities for your business are endless - illustrations are the perfect finishing touch to your graphic design, while illustrated infographics are proven to be far more engaging than plain text. Plus, illustration has the benefit that the only thing limiting you is your imagination - if you want a dragon you can have a dragon.

The types of work illustrators are hired for is extremely varied. Illustrators are hired for projects ranging from editorial, fashion, storyboard, technical and book illustration. Although illustrators are flexible in the kinds of projects they take on, they usually specialise in a particular style. These include traditional styles like pencils, pens, watercolour and pastels, as well as digital art made using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Often, a project might require both, with sketches first drawn up by hand and colouring then completed digitally.

On Twine, you'll find talented professional illustrators with a wide variety of experience in a range of industries and mediums. So whether you want a sketch for your next fashion collection or a cover for your new novel, you can find illustrators to make it happen on Twine.
