Im an Illustrator. i work on watercolor, acrilyc, digital and ink. Worked for Vertigo, NASA, Tokyopop, Archie, and a bunch of others. Enjoy my portfolio.

My name is Brandie Zaspel and I am an illustrator hailing from the Twin Cities. My work focuses on the use of pattern and texture while paying homage to the arts and crafts that originally fueled my love of art. When creating each piece, I often sketch and ink traditionally and finish digitally to ensure that my personal fingerprint is on each piece while allowing for freedom of experimentation with color and texture. Lately, I have been experimenting with more traditional methods including pen and ink, watercolor, and linocut printmaking. I use limited color palettes with busy compositions to create a comfortable balance with each finished piece. My favorite subjects of illustration include, but are not limited to, portraiture, pop culture icons, anything vintage, cute animals, nature, architecture, and fashion. I am very interested in textile design, children's book illustration, editorial illustration, marketing and product design, concept illustration, and gif creation. At the end of the day, anything that allows me to illustrate and create is incredibly fulfilling. I hold a BFA in illustration with a teaching artist minor from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Please feel free to contact me for commissions, freelance work, prints, collaborations, or just to say hello!

About illustrators

An illustrator is a visual artist who creates drawings and illustrations for use in advertisements, books, magazines, packaging, greetings cards, clothing design and newspapers. The possibilities for your business are endless - illustrations are the perfect finishing touch to your graphic design, while illustrated infographics are proven to be far more engaging than plain text. Plus, illustration has the benefit that the only thing limiting you is your imagination - if you want a dragon you can have a dragon.

The types of work illustrators are hired for is extremely varied. Illustrators are hired for projects ranging from editorial, fashion, storyboard, technical and book illustration. Although illustrators are flexible in the kinds of projects they take on, they usually specialise in a particular style. These include traditional styles like pencils, pens, watercolour and pastels, as well as digital art made using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Often, a project might require both, with sketches first drawn up by hand and colouring then completed digitally.

On Twine, you'll find talented professional illustrators with a wide variety of experience in a range of industries and mediums. So whether you want a sketch for your next fashion collection or a cover for your new novel, you can find illustrators to make it happen on Twine.
