Jamaal Okeen Ephriam (also known as KEY JAY) was born and bred into the entertainment field and has had extensive training in various aspects of the industry including recording, production & composition. He is an accomplished pianist, keyboardist and guitarist. Jay is well-versed in several genres: Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, Classical, Gospel etc. Key Jay is truly a prime example that age is nothing but a number. KEY JAY, a young phenomenon that’s been playing piano since the age of 5. Jay discovered keys while listening to the sounds of his parent’s R&B, Gospel, Funk, Reggae and Jazz bands. His curiosity took over and shortly thereafter, KEY JAY was tickling the ivory. Amazed by this gift that their son possess, KEY JAYs parents began cultivating and nurturing his skills. Jay became interested and mastered many Classical and Jazz pieces during his eleven (11) years of study. While growing up Jay had a burning desire to develop and began training on his own. The result of his study, today, has proven indeed to be very rewarding. KEY JAY became fascinated with the Jazz Band and Computer Technology. He joined his high school Jazz band and took on Computer Programming and Engineering and started in music production. He learned how to play the guitar, trombone and drums. As a member of the Jazz Band KEY JAY received many accolades and continued to mystify audiences by the masses with his wide-range of styles and presentation of Jazz, Classical, Hip Hop and R&B music. He intricately fuses, in a particular way, various styles and captures the very best of music. KEY JAY is also known to experiment with other fields including Video production, voice acting, and Web Development. In addition to the previous duties, he also serves as Webmaster for both websites (Key Jay Compound, and KJC Comix), serves as the producer, engineer, voiceactor, musician, and composer for the FLUR Internet Radio Plays (serving as artist Key Jay), and frequents video postproduction and promotional avenues to assist in marketing. At times, he’ll also be found storyboarding the various productions, and coming up with apparel and goods ideas for the store.

About mixing engineers

A mixing engineer is a person who creates the final version of a track, blending together all the vocals and instrument recordings. The engineer mixes these individual elements together until the desired balance of vocal and instrumental volume and frequency has been achieved. Whether it's your next big track or a jingle for your product video, mixing engineers will get the music to sound polished and professional. The last thing you want is for the music on your explainer video to make ears bleed and a mixing engineer can make sure the music, speech and audio effects are balanced and blend smoothly!

Mixing engineers typically use Pro Tools or Logic Pro with a huge variety of different plugins and effects. Some mixing engineers use analog equipment, because they like the warmth it gives to recordings, but most mixing engineers now use digital equipment, because of the cost and how flexible it is. Mixing engineers on Twine can help you. A well-mixed track is so important, it can make the difference between a professional sounding song and a quiet, tinny recording which sounds like it was recorded in a cupboard. On Twine, you'll find talented professional mixing engineers with a wide variety of experience in almost all musical genres. Their job is to make your music sound the best it possibly can.
