In February 2018, I started working as a freelance writer after becoming inspired by the ability to work from home and set my own hours in my previous role at Onfido. I have already written articles, news reports and reviews for a number of sports and news-based websites. Along with 10+ years experience in producing writing content for my previous jobs, I have been writing creatively from the day I could hold a pen. A lot of people call my story so far interesting and I hope they aren't just being polite. I left secondary school after being signed to a music label as the bass player for a pop band at the age of 17. This happened at a time before social media. Pictures are very hard to find. Whilst I never went on to have a number 1 record and my posters are not on every teenager's wall, in the years since: I have worked in a supermarket where I was my own mother's supervisor, built Lego models for display, sold comic book and film memorabilia to celebrities, almost joined the Royal Marines, sold investments in Ecuadorian gold mines and worked my way from kitchen porter to Sous Chef in a top-quality London restaurant in 6 month by working harder than anyone else. In 2014, I made the leap from the kitchen to "The Internet" when I joined Hassle.com (now Helpling). I was one of two original customer service team leads in our first round of expansion, helping to build the team and processes with the help of some great mentorship. I used my all-around knowledge of the platform to develop and deliver training to Berlin during a fast-paced migration. I also created and sustained a number of projects based around improving the lifetime value and retention of our providers. After a small career break, I joined Onfido where I got to grasp with a fast-based checking system, corresponded with users and, for the most part, worked remotely.
