Lorenzo Masotto is an Italian pianist and composer. He graduated Pianoforte and Composition at the Conservatory F.E.Dall’Abaco abacus in Verona then studied at The Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar (Germany). Masotto composed and performed music for Estravagario Teatro's theater and directs a polyphonic choir of 25 elements. In 2010 he conceived and composed the experimental project "Le Maschere di Clara" in which he played piano and electric bass guitar with Laura Masotto at the violin and Bruce Turri on drums. It has been welcomed and reviewed around the world. He also paired up with Stefania Avolio and played works of Astor Piazzolla in a 2 pianos concert. Lorenzo Masotto and his sister Laura Masotto (violinist) wrote and recorded music for piano and violin. They also participated in the composition of sonorous columns for short films and documentaries. He is currently involved in the recording of a disc entitled "Silk" written for piano in which he collaborates with various musicians, including Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet and Mauro Ottolini on trombone. The album will be published by the label “Alfa Music" based in Rome. Masotto also works on a series of songs for piano, string quartet and orchestra to be used as soundtracks for films, short films and/or documentaries in Italy and abroad. With saxophonist Luca Donini, he is organizing a new experimental duo with original music and improvisations that will start on tour in 2015. The single entitled "Pierrot" it was published by the label "Moderna Records" based in Canada.
