Michael Brady is a pianist and composer with a bachelor’s in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied with Gregory Allen. He started piano at age eight with teacher Phyllis Jovich and began studying with Dr. Michael Adcock at 15. As a performer, Mr. Brady has had the opportunity to give recitals around the country and abroad. He has performed in the 2015 and 2016 Clear Creek Music Festivals in Halfway, Oregon. Additionally, Mr. Brady was accepted into the prestigious 2019 summer piano intensive program at the Accademia Chigiana, in Siena, Italy, where he studied with Boris Berman and Carol Leone. Mr. Brady has performed in masterclasses with Awadagin Pratt, Roberto Proseda, Antonio Artese, James Anagnoson, Boris Slutsky, Christopher Guzman, and Leon Fleisher. An avid chamber musician, he has performed in chamber masterclasses with The Miro Quartet, Andrew Brownell, Anton Nel, and Collette Valentine in addition to several community outreaches. As a composer, Mr. Brady has written and arranged music for a variety of local artistic projects, college and graduate school courses, and individual endeavors. In 2013, he won third place in the Neva Greenwood Memorial Student Composition Competition, a competition for students in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Mr. Brady is currently pursuing his master’s degree in piano performance at Texas State University, where he is studying with Dr. Jason Kwak. He hopes to continue to develop his skills as a pianist and composer to help others develop their own love for music.
