I'm a website designer/developer specialising in React-based websites/apps (including NextJS/Gatsby) and custom WordPress theme development. My career began in marketing, working for a number of large companies in the publishing and education sectors, before I moved into digital marketing and SEO consultancy. For the last decade I've been designing and developing websites/apps and am able to draw upon my previous marketing and optimisation experience to ensure I provide a user-friendly, commercially successful product. My work falls into two main areas – React-based work and the development of custom WordPress themes. On the WordPress side I use the Roots stack (Trellis/Bedrock/Sage) to build bespoke, optimised WordPress sites, often using WooCommerce to deliver ecommerce sites. With the emergence of JAMStack and the rise of JavaScript-based frameworks I'm building an increasing number of React-based sites - largely using NextJS or Gatsby. Sometimes using WordPress as a headless CMS, or a dedicated headless platform such as Prismic or Sanity. I am experienced in both designing and building, or developing from someone else's designs.
