Job Introduction
BBC Children in Need are currently looking for a Lead Creative for a nine month Maternity Cover based at MediaCity, Salford.

This key role within the BBC Children in Need marketing function will lead in house creative development under the Marketing Services Manager.

Our refreshed objectives and activities will ensure the impact we have on children’s lives is front and centre of the work the charity undertakes over and above the projects and services we fund.

Main Responsibilities
The Lead Creative for BBC Children in Need is a varied role, managing all the in house design requirements including scheduling and management of Graphic Designer and freelance workloads.

The role will include application and design across on and offline materials covering both the consumer appeal brand and also the sector brand, including the further development of sub brands to sit under these brands. You will also work on the look and feel development for CiN and partner campaigns where in house development is required.

The Lead Creative will work on the application of brand guidelines as supplied by external agencies across designs and also the provision of internal marketing services for the organisation. You will input into imagery required across design applications from third party sources and CiN owned shoots, and also the manage the Children in Need image bank.

The Lead Creative will develop all design through to artwork and print ready files and be the brand guardian with regards to all Children in Need generated design and will input into guardianship requirements for external parties and partners.

Additional duties will be to work alongside channel specialists to deliver key campaigns including the annual appeal and also working alongside other areas of the commercial team and the content and insight teams as needed. The role will involve taking on other ad hoc duties as required including attendance of photoshoots and promotional events.

The Ideal Candidate
The Lead Creative for BBC Children in Need will need to demonstrate great creativity and passion for branding and design, with a portfolio of work available to support their application. You will have experience of using relevant industry standard applications, including InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator in addition to Premiere, Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects, HTML and Final, or similar applications.

You will be a confident, creative and tenacious self starter who is able to work to short deadlines with minimum supervision as well as a great team player. You will have a meticulous eye for detail and strive for accuracy in all aspects of your work.

The Lead Creative must have extensive experience of design for print and web in an agency or in-house setting; especially for photography and delivery. You will also have a sound knowledge of print production and experience of prioritising and performing well under pressure and tight deadlines. Experience of negotiating with outside printers, designers and other contractors will be an advantage as will an appreciation of the activities of the BBC in general and BBC Children in Need in particular.
