Web Projects Team Lead and Full Stack Developer in London, UK

Full Time (Remote Working) Freelance Contract Position required: Web Projects Team Leader £30-50 per hour depending on experience (equivalent salary £62,400-£104,000 PA)

This is a Twine Enterprise project. You need to be a Twine Pro to pitch.

Overview:

Leading marketing agency is looking to recruit a UK-based fullstack developer and team leader with the ability to project manage all web projects including overseeing budgets, delivering to timescales and completing quality assurance checks. Successful candidate will possess excellent technical knowledge that allows them to not only spot and fix issues but enable web teams to spot and fix issues themselves, to develop alternatives to current processes, improving efficiency and team accountability. Candidate should also demonstrate excellent soft skills in all aspects of people management and customer service. For the right candidate the role offers the opportunity to be a key-lead in all aspects of project delivery, with scope to create your own department and prove your managerial abilities, whilst also working remotely. By bringing together both technical hard skills and managerial soft skills, candidate should be a great developer and an outstanding team leader.

Purpose and scope:

The role is key in the delivery of all web projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. The 3 main areas of responsibility are:

  • Managing a team of remote web developers who are a mixture of external agencies and solo web developers; developing communication and collaborative working across remote teams, increasing productivity and encouraging a cultural shift in responsiveness and working standards, so that web developers learn to take on standards, spot checks and fixes themselves without management.
  • Project management of all projects including: monthly reporting on all aspects of development including agreed KPIs, ensuring projects stay on budget, creating systems to ensure all projects are delivered to agreed dates and quality checks take place to ensure all work is to standard before final submission
  • Technical development/Standards implementation; the ability to identify and solve system failures and support the team to rectify issues themselves and jump in to fix issues as a last resort… Responding to account managers and delegating tasks to wider web development team thus reducing account manager-web developer communication

Key Accountabilities and Role outputs:
Team Leading

  • Managing all web development projects and teams, creating clarity and ensuring communication is effective across a remote working team.
  • Ensuring web teams are accountable for their work by delivering to agreed timescales and standards.
  • Creating collaboration that promotes developers to create their own fixes and spot issues so that potential problems are resolved without managerial intervention.

Project Management

  • You will be responsible for web development costs, making sure they stay within hardline budget parameters whilst aiming to improve profitability.
  • Provide audits on all web-based spending.
  • Creating and producing transparent ‘best practice’ standards that ensure quality and accountability within the team on all projects.
  • Implementation of ‘best practice’ standards so that all team members have measurable deliverables that you can monitor and assess.
  • Production and creation of monitoring systems and project management tools that ensure projects are delivered on time to exacting standards.
  • Working alongside account managers so that feedback, problems or issues are picked up on quickly and efficiently.

Self-Management

  • You will be self managing, driving forward projects and developments without supervision. You will be accountable through written monthly reports that demonstrate agreed KPI’s have been met.
  • You will be required to work 100% of normal office hours ensuring you are available to the account managers, responding quickly to requests.
  • You will be responsive and committed to your own CPD, ensuring you stay aware of the latest changes in web development and digital marketing.
  • You will be a driving force of new innovation and responsible for continuously searching for new working efficiencies and standards which improve all web projects
