Animator / Designer for Video Explainer
Say who you are and what you do.
I’m a partner in a startup, who are rolling out safety technology to Heavy Industry. This is new software, using a combination of Mobile and Web App services.
Do you have a job specification or creative brief?
I require a 60-90 second animated video explainer. It should be conservative, corporate and minimalistic. The explainer should cover:
The problem – The industry is paper based, this causes issues with quality, productivity and safety.
The solution – The product automates the paper based processes using Mobile App and Web App
How it works – Processes are set up on Web App and accessed by engineers on Mobile App.
A call to action – Brand awareness / logo, contact us.
2D Stencil Animation is preferred, but will take the Animators lead on this. It should focus on the ‘Previous World’ of paper based processes, and the transition to the new world of Web and Mobile Apps. It should be based in a factory environment, preferably with the factory in the background and the journey of 1 engineer.
I have a picture in mind, of a factory sat on top of a closed laptop plinth. The engineer is working on a machine on the factory (maybe a large rotating cog), he is using paper at this point and is having difficulty. When the transition to Web App take places to the ‘new world’, the laptop opens to replace the view of the factory with a view of the Web App. Then from the laptop Web App, to a mobile phone device displaying the Mobile App. Then from the mobile app back to the factory, focusing on the engineer using the mobile app. After successfully
using the mobile app the machine that the engineer is working on stops. Then transitions to company logo / CTA.
Good example animation that I have seen is here:
Construction / Industry backdrop with Software. Nice stencil animation, not cartoon
Transition between different devices, animated logistics industry. Simple brand
Shows usage of devices
Transitions between system and real world, stencil animation
Good desktop animation
