About you
We want someone with at least six years’ experience in digital and print copywriting. As a writer, you’ll be inventive and original. Obviously, your spelling and grammar will be impeccable. But it’s your ideas that will set you apart – your creativity, imagination and insight. You’ll know when to dial things up and when to tone things down. You’ll understand the customer and be aware of their needs.

Not only that, you’ll be a sympathetic editor, a true ‘people person’. And you’ll be totally at home helping other writers to nail their craft; nurturing talent, and supporting the copy lead on a wide range of projects.

What the role involves

• Writing in the OVO tone of voice across a wide range of channels: email campaigns, direct marketing, advertising, social media, the web, and for our OVO app
• Proofreading and editing copy from other copywriters (when necessary)
• Helping nurture junior talent; giving feedback and editing
• Taking the lead on creative concepts for campaigns
• Collaborating with Marketing and other teams

What we’re after

• Minimum six years’ experience in copywriting, at numerous brands and agencies
• Senior level of expertise
• Experience leading a team and nurturing junior writers
• A positive attitude
• A strong conceptual thinker
• Extensive experience writing long and short copy for different channels
• Superb up-to-date SEO knowledge
• A degree in English, Journalism or similar
