Lead UI Designer in United Kingdom, UK 🌎

Looking for: UI Designer
Budget: Negotiable
💰

We want the Clarks customer experience to be as well designed as our shoes. So we need a talented Lead UI Designer to help design a compelling and engaging online journey. You’ll be instrumental to our business, with the power to craft digital experiences used by millions of people.

The role
You’ll join a growing CX team with a big responsibility: to help lead the CX revolution in Clarks to create a fantastic digital experience using all the tools, ideas and practices you can throw at it. You’ll work alongside the UX team to ensure the brand is represented in the most simple, accessible and intuitive way. You can test and learn your design hypothesis with customers using prototypes and iterating to find the best provable idea. Working with a SCRUM development team you’ll translate concepts into artefacts that communicate your idea in the most effective way possible.

About you

  • You will have developed and built digital products and experiences, ideally, you’ve gained this expertise in an online retail role, but if you have a different background, we’d still like to hear from you.
  • Experience in supporting, mentoring and managing digital designers, helping them to improve their practice, process and workflow.
  • Strong understanding of UI kits, design components
  • Experience in collaborating closely with UX team members to create user centred design solution
  • Experience in responsive design and design systems
  • Strong working knowledge and experience working in industry software, including Sketch, Adobe cloud, prototyping and workflow tools
  • Understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX)
  • Design-related degree or equivalent in practice experience.

Life with us
Every 60 seconds, 105 pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.6 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 15,000 employees across 75 different countries – everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s biggest everyday footwear brand (by sale volume), we’re still owned by the Clarks family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.

The benefits
As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.

We love hearing from great people.

Clarks International believes that the principle of equality of opportunity is fundamental to the company’s operations. Our long held aim is to provide just and fair treatment for all employees. We will not discriminate on the grounds of sex, age, disability, marital status, colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or gender reassignment.
