Illustrator/Graphic Designer in London, UK

Job Description
We are currently offering two work experience placements for students in our London office.

Face Painting by Mariam offers body adornment such as face art, body painting, temporary tattoos, festival glitter and similar for the events industry. This placement would best suit students from a Illustration/Graphic design course or similar. We are ideally looking for students interested in making a creative contribution to a small company.

We are looking for students who fill the following criteria

• You MUST be on a course that requires you to undertake a work placement.
• Based in London or surrounding areas.
• Currently on an illustration, graphic design course, or similar.
• Good availability, weekend availability may occasionally be required.
• A love for glitter and all things sparkly is a must! Ideal candidates would have an interest in at least one of the following fields; arts, events, fashion and styling, make up and body adornment. You will have the opportunity to help assist in the development of the company image.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will be involved in the following

• Workingwith the team to come up with new ideas and concepts
• Undertaking relevant research
• Drawing rough sketches to help visualise ideas
• Developing colour/theme/trend boards
• Creating content for branding and marketing
• Helping with logo and website development projects
• You will be fully briefed and set projects where you will have the chance to apply your knowledge and creativity.

Qualifications and Skills

• Confident in hand drawing/sketching
• Able to illustrate in a variety of styles.
• Ideally some knowledge of image editing and digital sketching software, such as Photoshop, Indesign and Adobe Illustrator
• The ability to undertake creative research and develop concepts
• Attention to detail!
• A good eye for colour and composition
• Fashion forward
• A willingness to learn and be flexible
• Bubbly with a positive outlook
