Music Score for Documentary Film 🌎

Looking for: Music Composer

Very Popular job

This project requires the development of music that would be used in conjunction with a 2 hour documentary film about the rise and fall of the steel industry in Pittsburgh, PA - United States. Music is NOT required for the entire length of the film, but only during certain segments - well below the 2 hours. The music must fit with the mood and emotional feelings of what the film producer is trying to convey. For example, the film involves a number of interviews with people who lost their jobs and there is a feeling of great loss. At other times, the unemployed steel workers rise up to save an old steel mill - a sense of hope and perhaps a new start for people who want to take control. A video copy of the film will be provided - right now we have two main parts that are almost fully complete. We used some music here and there that we would prefer not to use given the license requirements. Thus, it may be more economical and easier to simply have a freelance composer create the music for the film. We can also feature the music and give credit to the composer on the film’s website and other materials.

Please make sure you own or have the rights to the music you deliver. I would prefer to not spend time answering questions until we get down to a final short list of 3 composers. Too many responses to go back and forth this early in the life cycle of this project. The final short list of composers may be required to come up with a short composition for a small cut of the film to help us make a final decision. There is no immediate rush on this project. The film is still under production and not scheduled to be released until next year. The final chosen composer will be clearly listed on the film credits, website and other materials.
