Responsibilities
- Work with our robotic hardware development kit and port our python demo to Unity
- Perform on-site tests in Pasadena or Torrence every 1-2 weeks
- Work with an artist / animator and audio designer to elevate the core gaming experience with visuals and audio that respond to real world interactions between the RC car and the physical environment (RC car crashes into wall, windshield “breaks” with animation and sound)
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the demo
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5 years of overall software development experience
- 3+ years’ development experience for Unity applications
- Knowledge of python
- Strong knowledge of Unity, including experience with scripting
- Strong knowledge with Object-Oriented Programming (C#)
- Proficient with Git (Gitlab/Github)
- Up-to-date with the latest gaming trends, techniques, best practices and technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to think critically when solving problems
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience
One or more of these is a plus
- AAA title experience
- Experience with hardware and embedded software
- Experience with RC Cars and/or Drone Racing
- Familiarity with gStreamer
- Familiarity with real-time control data communication in Unity via UDP/TCP or other wireless protocols as applied to Unity applications
- Mobile development experience (iOS/Android)
- Experience in C++
- Experience in robotics & computer vision (marker recognition, SLAM)
About the Platform
You will work with our proprietary AR SUPERCARS. These prototype high-tech RC cars support low-latency wireless streaming video, remote control, telemetry streaming and computer vision. Think of our hardware as advanced drone on wheels.
The cars are controlled by professional race car simulators (as well as traditional USB compliant game controllers). The race car simulators have full motion control setups that respond to car sensors.

- Depending on your skills and availability this will take 4-8 weeks
- Successful candidates will be offered follow-on work as the company ramps up sales
