We are a 5 piece band based in Chester, UK and we play original material influenced by rock, blues and punk. To name a few influences, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac (early), Nirvana, White stripes, Dinosaur Jr, Smashing Pumpkins and so many more!! There is an unbelievable amount of energy in the music we play and this is portrayed in our live gigs, dull moments do not exist! ‘The Queen’s Minions’ started in December 2011 when we wrote and performed a song written as a present for our lead singer’s wife at their wedding. From that point on we continued to make music and never looked back! We have had the current line up since December 2012 and since then we have gigged across the North West and continue to push further afield. At the start of our journey we recorded all of our material on an old 8-track recorder but we decided we wanted quality recordings that better represent us. Last summer we went into the studio to record our debut E.P ‘Buffalo Rodeo’ with producer Gary Lloyd (Shy & The Fight, The Loose Kites and Chemistry Lane). The E.P has the second song we ever wrote (White Lies, which has developed and evolved since the start) up to the most recent song we wrote (Rock Hill Farm). It was a difficult choice deciding what tracks to record as we have 14 songs (and counting) to choose from! After deciding and recording for a few months we were blessed with ‘Buffalo Rodeo’. This is a true reflection of the sounds we produce: loud, fast, rockin’, bluesy and melodic. We also released our debut video on the same day as the E.P (December 19th 2013) for the track ‘Rock Hill Farm’ directed by Sam Ryley. Sam has been the band’s photographer for a year; it seemed only natural that he would be the one to develop our conceptual ideas for the video. We asked for surreal, rabbit and road trip and we got it! You can check the video here: _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_ Since January this year we have featured on BBC Wales with Adam Walton, numerous internet radio stations (mainly from America and Canada!) and had some amazing reviews by music magazines and fans! We have just booked in to Manchester Academy (1st March) and continue to push for more gigs because, well, that’s what it’s all about!! The E.P is opening many new doors for us and for that we’re grateful but all we’ve ever wanted is to get more gigs around the U.K and further if possible!! Thanks for taking the time to read the details of our humble journey, follow us on Twitter, FB, Youtube etc. to continue reading the next chapter of our journey! Hopefully we’ll see you at a gig one day, we’ll be the ones that are loud, crazy, and full of energy (and our bass player and guitarist will be moshing in the pit at the front, we can’t control them, they like to wander!)
