Winning acclaim from those in the know on both the underground and
mainstream urban music scene, ‘Sillkey’ A.K.A Nayla Largie, is now gaining the recognition he deserves as one of the most
talented new producers and songwriters to in the UK today.
Hailing from Newtown, Birmingham but now based in London, Sillkey’s
distinctive cuts, which have been dubbed ‘Urban Epics,’ have seen him
produce ‘Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya)’, Wiley’s # 3 UK Hit, which sold 75,000 in the first week.
In addition to his encompassing accolades, Sillkey has already began to fulfill another of his musical ambitions as he co-wrote the score for the film, ‘Payback Season’ starring Adam Deacon.
But for those who know Sillkey best, his burgeoning reputation comes
as no surprise, because as much of a cliché as it might sound some
people are just born to make music.
In fact Sillkey has been stunning people with his musical talents ever
since he was just eight years old, when seasoned session musicians at
his father’s recording studio gave him his childhood nickname after
being astounded by his ability to caress ‘Sillkey’ sounds out of
keyboards, guitars, bass guitars, drums, his own vocals, and he also rose to the challenge of conquering any other instruments he chose to play.
From spine shaking baselines and apocalyptically massive beats to lush string arrangements and retro-tinged timeless future classics, Sillkey’s unique production flavour and touch means he is now a man whose skills are coveted by some of London’s hottest names.
With publishing and production deals now iminent, Sillkey is now planning his move to America to work with some of the music industry’s biggest players.
