I didn't play the melody because then there would have been only one chorus to develop an improvisation. I thought that it wasn't enough since we always had two choruses to play over. Sorry! As I looked over the different types of harmonic movement (guide tone lines, common scales, constant structure, pedals, chromatic) I gave particular attention to the guide tone lines because they are the most useful when one plays a solo over complex harmonies. I record myself playing an improvisation over the harmony—two choruses of soloing. #audio #Latin Jazz #jazzguitar #memoriesoftomorrow #guitar #pianoaccompaniment #improvisation #solo #chordscales #guidetone #pentatonic #playalong #garyburtoncourse #keith #jarrett #berklee #college #of #music
