Moses Sedler (Cello): After studying privately, Moses went on to study cello at the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. At Cornish that he developed a strong interest in improvisation. While continuing his classical studies he steeped himself in jazz theory, improvisation and composition. Soon after completing his courses at Cornish, Ali Akbar Khan and Ravi Shankar sparked a passion to learn about the music of India. This affinity with Indian music brought him to San Rafael to study with Ali Akbar Khan. Victor Spiegel (Piano): this guy is musically all over the map. First he studied classical piano for 15 years. Then he went deep into jazz and rock, hung a left at North Indian ragas, went straight into Master of Arts in Music Composition at Mills College, then climbed into African rhythms and Indonesian scales, took a right into Middle Eastern modes and melodies, and landed somewhere he calls global music.
