Ciaran Byrne - Next Level (AD Retweak)
Ciaran Byrne is influenced by early 80s Electro and Hip Hop as well as the Acid House revolution and the machines that caused it. In these early records, you can clearly hear a drum machine and a synth or two clunking along and you can probably even identify them if your a geek like Ciaran. Born in West Belfast in the early 70’s, around 2001 relocated to Devon, England where he now lives . These days Mr Byrne is busy in the studio writing Acid, Techno, Electro and Acid House music, fusing old school sounds with modern production techniques, keeping his vintage synths and drum machines in great shape. Computing since the first home computers became available, Sinclair ZX81, then the ZX Spectrum playing games and programming, this is where Ciaran was first exposed to electronic sounds and the concept of computer control. When Electro and Hip Hop arrived in 1982 it spoke volumes to Ciaran creating music with these machines, futuristic sounds, robotic voices and kids spinning on linoleum seemed like a different world to the war torn streets of West Belfast, it was pure escapism. We decided to bring back his vocalized Magic debut release by We Play Acid NEXT LEVEL and managed to join Mr BC, ACCIDENTAL MELODY, MORIZIO and ACID DRIVER for re-working methods to embrace the Main version with JUDITH CARSON´s lovely artwork. Its about time to: Let the music take control!

Acid88 broadcasts the WPA005 experience, turning up the bass straight from Northampton with two original tracks using an old feel for kick spicing. The main track 'ACID HOUSE CORRESPONDENT' tells a true story about the controversial times back in the late 80s when Acid House was banned from the UK sound-tracked by a awesome TB303 and surprising Hip Hop loop blows every now and then. Acid Driver appears with a balanced retweaked interpretation aimed for dance floor Jackers. The 2nd original motion picture 'MANDATORY BOWTIE' brings up a huge melting pot of influences in perfect harmony, conquering experienced listeners by tweaking supper cool melodies all over the place heavily influenced by the Rave scene and Hip-Hop drops. Going to Raves since the early age of 15, Acid88 started releasing 303 soaked acid tracks inspired by the likes of Luke Vibert, Ceephax Acid Crew, Aphex Twin and the original acid sound of 1988, plus a bit of everything. So far most of his work has been based inside the D.A.W but more recently started building up his collection of hardware synths and drum machines to take music out there and play live.
