Brian Callahan
Santa Cruz, United States

My name is Brian Callahan. I'm a songwriting artist and I use my wit and sense of humor in all my work. Everything from my jazz band, The Low Standards, to my current project Mary and The Manchild, uses sardonic reflections of my self and lovable satire of others. My art is that metahipster self-pretentious sort of art that can only really be justified by itself before it was cool. I wrote Hitler's Bar Mitzvah, for example. As a Jew, I thought it was hilarious, but immediately felt guilty. I wrote an album for a redhead that got away, because we can all relate to some sort of specific loss. And I write autobiographical comedy. Some of the comedy is intrinsic in my person, and is a great live show.
