I have over a decade of experience as a graphic designer, especially in the nonprofit/arts sector. I served as the in-house graphic designer, curator, art preparator, IT specialist, administrative officer, and more at the Spartanburg Art Museum for nearly ten years. I learned to sew at age 11 and have created my own costumes and clothing ever since, from basic alterations to creating items from scratch using patterns. I especially enjoy combing thrift stores for unique items to refashion. View my full online portfolio on my website: _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_

uniE621 Zenith Zen // Café Menu Concept
This branding concept for an affordable, healthy brunch café was an experiment in utilizing AI natural language processing software to generate text prompts and body copy. I asked the AI for the following: a restaurant concept, a description of the restaurant, the names of the employees, food and drink titles and recipes, as well as resources on mindful eating, food insecurity, and disordered eating. Once the content had been generated and edited, I set to work designing this brand identity, website, and merchandise for Zenith Zen Brunch Café. I paired the contemporary, bold BioRhyme with Bimbo Pro Finetip, a loose, handwritten typeface for a touch of whimsicality. Most important to this project is the functionality of the online ordering system, programmed and housed in a Wix Editor site. uniE621 The Colors Collab // Youth Outreach Nonprofit Branding
The Colors Collab was a youth outreach summer internship program piloted by the Spartanburg Art Museum in 2023. Thirty-one high school students were paired with five arts-related businesses during this eight-week program, where they learned the basics of printmaking, web design, interior design, drone videography, and studio photography. uniE621 Artist Portfolio
This artist's portfolio was designed for portrait painter, art instructor, master gardener, and very good friend, Kathleen Digney. The color palette was created by drawing on the muted, cozy colors used frequently in her oil portraits, and the combination of thin sans-serif Works Sans and classic serif Garamond mirrors the artist's use of traditional media in a contemporary world. Some background parallax scrolling is the only bell or whistle this site needed, as the artist's paintings speak for themselves. uniE621 Oddball 2023 // Nonprofit Event Branding
OddBall is the Spartanburg Art Museum's biannual gala fundraiser, with each year featuring a fantastical theme beyond the standard black tie event. 2023's OddBall gala theme was "A Midwinter Night's Dream" - like Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, but winter, because OddBall takes place in January. This particular event raised over $25,000 for the Museum, with 140+ attendees. I designed the graphics, event webpage, and event décor. uniE621 Cardboard Catacombs // Heavy Metal Band Logo
Cardboard Catacombs is a fictional, feminist, heavy metal parody band. Their hit single "All I Had for Breakfast was Coffee", to the tune of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You", would earn over 42069 plays across Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube upon its release February 31. In addition to designing the logo, website, album art, and merchandise for this band, I also wrote the body copy scattered throughout the site. Cardboard Catacombs was inspired by the low-budget horror film Dario Argento's Dracula, when the eponymous undead dramatically traverses a maze-like set piece that is clearly constructed of cardboard and styrofoam. The name Cardboard Catacombs evokes a comical juxtaposition between notions of the somber, edgy, and eternal versus the temporary, commonplace, and fragile. Of course, the logical conclusion was to select a grungy color palette of blacks and reds to go along with the blackletter Lordish used in the logo. uniE621 Museum Merch // Permanent Collection Mugs
The Spartanburg Art Museum manages and maintains an on-site permanent collection of 1100+ items, including paintings, drawings, rare books, sculptures, and more. In addition to making high-resolution photographs of these items and adding them to a public-facing custom database in SAM's website, I was challenged to create contemporary, trendy merchandise for the Museum's online shop using these photographs. In my opinion, the most meme-able piece in the Museum's collection is The Girl with Red Hair, painted by male Ashcan School artist Robert Henri ca. 1903. The Girl in question is Marjorie Organ, who was the first (and only) female cartoonist of the New York Journal at the time this portrait was painted. The straightforward and naturalistic style and composition truly lends itself to a variety of parody. Images courtesy of the Spartanburg Art Museum's permanent collection.
